CENORED DONATES MEDICAL SUPPLIES TO THE OTJIWARONGO STATE HOSPITAL

In a significant show of corporate social responsibility, CENORED hosted a sponsorship handover ceremony at the Otjiwarongo State Hospital on Friday, 11 July 2025. The event marked the official handover of medical and health supplies valued at N$117,491.71, aimed at improving the hospital’s capacity to deliver quality healthcare services.

The ceremony was led by Mr. Chali Matengu, CENORED’s Corporate Communications & Marketing Officer, who emphasized the company’s ongoing commitment to the wellbeing of communities it serves. “I visited the hospital frequently and noticed their needs,” said Mr. Matengu. “We at CENORED believe in contributing meaningfully to the lives of patients and the professionals who care for them. This donation is one of many ways we strive to support essential public services.”

Senior Medical Officer, Dr. Slo Amesho welcomed attendees and extended sincere gratitude to CENORED, noting that the donation would significantly enhance patient care and hospital operations.

Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Mutombo highlighted the rarity and value of such gestures in the public health sector and praised CENORED’s consistent support, referencing earlier donations made during the COVID-19 pandemic to the Otjiwarongo Clinic.

In her remarks, Matron Sr. W. Simon expressed heartfelt appreciation and detailed the items donated, which include:

• 200 linen sets

• 25 cellular blankets

• 166 thermometers

• 166 ring files for patient records

• Nametags for all staff members

• 7 medical scales

• 50 surprise packages for patients

• 3 packs of Huggies diapers

“These items will go a long way in improving the daily operations of our facility,” said Sr. Simon. “Each patient will now have their own properly maintained file, every nurse will wear a clear name tag, and our wards are now better equipped for both adult and pediatric care. We are incredibly grateful to CENORED for their thoughtful and impactful donation.” With a total value of N$117,491.71, the donation significantly boosts the hospital’s ability to provide dignified, efficient, and patient-centered care. The handover ceremony underscored CENORED’s dedication to supporting public health institutions and enhancing service delivery across the Otjozondjupa Region.
