CENORED (Central North Regional Electricity Distributor) has announced a 3.8% and a 0.75% for CENORED Omaheke increase in electricity tariffs, effective July 4, 2025. This increase follows a 3.8% rise in bulk electricity tariffs by the Electricity Control Board (ECB) for the 2025/26 financial year. The ECB’s decision to increase bulk tariffs was based on a cost-plus methodology and considering factors like operational costs, infrastructure updates, and market dynamics.
While CENORED initially applied for a 5.8% and 1.5% (for CENORED Omaheke) increase, the ECB approved a 3.8% and a 0.75% hike for CENORED proper and CENORED Omaheke respectively. The increased tariffs will affect all demand customers.
